Giles entered the SCA in 1999, after a search of about 25 years.  Giles is the third son of Alan Edmondson. Though he was a Saxon, Alan chose to name his children in the Norman fashion in the hope that they would have an easier life in Norman-controlled England.  Not true for Giles, who was very pro-Saxon.

As the third male child, Giles was destined to to receive nothing upon his father's death.  Since the family had retained the old ways, a monastic life was out of the question.  So Giles swallowed his Saxon pride and served in the military under the Norman kings until making his own wealth on the third Crusade with Richard.  This allowed him to retire to his own estate.

Currently Giles serves as the Seneschal of both the Marche of Three Towers and the Barony of Brendoken.  He is a warranted armored combat, rapier, and boffer marshal, serving as deputy to the North Oaken regional rapier marshal.  Giles is apprenticed to Mistress Helewyse de Birkestad.

During his time in the society Giles has been granted:

Award of Arms - Edmund and Kateryn, AS 35

Award of the Purple Fret - Valharic and Alys, AS 36

Order of the Cavendish Knot - Pieter and Nan Astrid, AS 37

Order of the Willow - Pieter and Nan Astrid, AS 38

Order of the Evergreen - Felix and Madeleina, AS 41
